About the Artist

I became an abstract artist after a career teaching science to young children. I believe we all learn best when we feel safe to try new things. Art is where I can experiment and nothing is really a mistake - in fact it is often a happy accident that makes the art better. My first pieces, which still hang in my home, were collaborations with my own children and were born of a need to create something special together.

Currently, the focus of my art is lines, reflections and color. My preferred medium is acrylics and I use a variety of household items as well as actual paintbrushes to create my works. My greatest joy as an artist occurs when a viewer sees something in my paintings (intended or not) that they connect with - a color, a shape, a feeling.
